![]() and your LED-Wall / Projector / Display / Scaler ect. There really should be a disclaimer on the sales page. I have invested a lot of time and money into this. It would really irk me if that is the case. I just need to know if there is an actual fix in the works, or if I need to look elsewhere for a serious video player? This is a BIG deal, and I have a lot on the line with this product. It is 2016, Arena 5.0.1 is out, what's the update on video playback? Is this product going to remain only viable for VJ's who's videos can play badly? I'm sure you guys are tired of fielding this question, but I have to ask. After hearing my favorite client tell me that if my media server can't even play video smoothly they won't be able to use my system anymore, and then to find out that this problem has been going on for is very frustrating. today I see that it is a known issue that has been going on for years. ![]() And so did my client.Īfter trying countless hardware configurations, media file types, forums, ect. Only then, when I was doing a show and was serving media across a giant curved screen did I notice the little skips in the playback. But I was so impressed with its features that I spent a large amount of money and built a beast of a machine to run it, and started a company to facilitate renting the machine out for shows. I only wanted to use it as a media player and for the screen warping and blending for live corporate events, so a large chunk of the software I don't use. When I first learned about this software, I couldn't believe all of the features it had. And I have the type of clients that are not ok with jumpy video. Well here we are in 2016 with Arena 5 and it is still an issue. At first I thought maybe it was the sli connection on my video cards, but as it turns out, this is a known problem discussed in the forums back in 2013 in Arena 4. I have been experiencing the dreaded un-smooth video playback. Its has to be solid.I have been digging through the forums all day again. ![]() The GUI is lightyears ahead of madrix IMHO. After downloading resolume, I must say I am very excited about its capabilities. But a friend mentioned resolume now did artnet. This will be used for a medium sized club install with about 5000 pixels and two vid screens. I am probably missing something for sure. Is there an "ENABLE" in some menu I have not found? ![]() Now when I go to DMX Preferences the lumiverse does not show up. In the "DMX output" tab of advanced output I see the pixel levels changing, as well as on the bottom of the side bar. On your recommendation I tried it the other way around. Next, I used the "DMX Pixel Tube" fixture in the Advanced output. Originally i created the "new output" in the DMX preferences. Also if you have ideas for features that could help you troubleshoot these type of connection issues, we're all ears! Please, feel free to suggest any idea on why this wouldn't work for you, and what we can do about that to help you. Funnily enough, any Arena computers on the network that accidentally have Artnet *input* enabled on Universe 0 now start responding as well, and my colleagues get very angry. I then open the DMX Preferences and create an ArtNet output for Universe 0, subnet 0.Īt this moment, my Enttec ODE starts flashing and the LED bar starts showing pixel output. I create a fixture for a 16 pixel RGB strip. The ODE and the Mac Pro are both connected to a router. On the receiving side, I'm using an Enttec ODE set to Universe 0 to connect to a 16 pixel RGB LED bar. On the sending side I have Arena 5.0.1, on a 2013 Mac Pro running OSX 10.11.1. Here's what I do to get Artnet output from Resolume: If it doesn't, it's very hard to figure out why, and it sucks monkeyballs. If it works, it just works and it's awesome. The problem is that Artnet is a bit of a black box.
